A big product for those who suffer from peanut allergies could be on the market soon. It was announced today that a new drug study tested on people with a peanut allergy has released some fantastic results. The study tested those with peanut allergies on various patch strengths that actually have peanut as an active ingredient in them. The patches are worn on the body and according to the study some of the people who tested the patch were able to eat up to 4 peanuts a day without a problem.
This patch could be a great thing for anyone with peanut allergies as many of them are very sensitive to peanuts and could suffer from anaphylaxis, but also rashes and hives. There are 8 foods that account for 90% of all food allergies: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish, and shell fish. People with a food allergy typically don’t outgrow them, but the symptoms may become less severe.
If this patch becomes safe for use, this could be the start of a bright future for those with all food allergies. It is estimated that over 15 million Americans have some form of food allergy, while about 3 million of those are allergic to peanuts.
