Coffee keeps you healthy


A new report released this week by the Dietary Guidelines Committee says that drinking 400mg of caffeine a day, which is the equivalent of 4-5 cups of coffee a day is no longer thought to have any negative health effects. In fact, it is believed that it has some added health benefit. Coffee drinkers will rejoice!

The United States is ranked 25th in the world as far as coffee consumption goes almost 4.2kg per year. Most coffee is consumed during breakfast hours at about 65% of all coffee consumption. The new added health benefits may boost these statistics.

The added health benefits can help fight type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and possibly help fight the onset of Parkinson’s disease. The coffee can also help with those who live an ultra healthy lifestyle as it is naturally made. Runners should drink coffee because it will help with their energy level as well as help to keep them hydrated longer.

When drinking coffee you should still keep tabs on your sugar and creamer intake. The most healthy coffee is plain black coffee. So coffee drinkers go ahead and grab that extra cup!
